Jorge M. Torres

Jorge serves as a Lecturer and Entrepreneurship Fellow at the Yale School of Engineering and Applied Science and the Tsai Center for Innovative Thinking at Yale, which is Yale University’s hub for student-facing innovation education. He was previously the Dean of Pierson College (2020 - 2022), a living and learning community for Yale undergraduates, where he served as the principal academic and personal advisor to 700 students during his tenure.

Before working in higher education, Jorge served as an original member of the investment team at Silas Capital, a consumer-focused venture capital firm, where he also completed a Kauffman Fellowship. Prior to working in the venture capital industry, Jorge practiced intellectual property law for 15 years with several AmLaw 100 firms and qualified as a registered U.S. patent attorney.

Jorge earned a B.S. in Molecular Biophysics & Biochemistry from Yale and a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
